I LOVED both “Firebringer” and “Ship of Dreams.”

Working Class Socialite: “Ship of Dreams”
Paige Scott describes Working Class Socialite as “minimalist theater with an offbeat sophistication.” I can’t vouch for the sophistication, but they unapologetically embrace the minimalist, making it part of the comedy. Anthropomorphism runs amuck: propellers swig from flasks, cackling iceberg seek revenge, a safe practically orgasms every time you put your hand in it. Tuxedo T-shirts denote the fancy people. (You will hear “BILLY ZANE!” a lot.) The most sophisticated tech is limited to the artwork created by Jason Adams via the overhead projector.

4th Wall Players: “Firebringer”
“Firebringer” is musical hilarity of the highest caliber.
In such an unassuming spot and with a small theater company, I’m always prepared to make exceptions and excuses. Most cast and crew of community theater get involved for the love of the performing arts, not because they are getting paid. For 4th Wall, getting this show together was an all-hands-on-deck cast-and-crew collaboration.
And it’s amazing.
