Local playwright Bennett Ayres has mad scope. Way back in 2017, I wrote that his show “Mad Mad Hercules” “has the distinction of being the funniest effing thing I have seen in years. YEARS.” Now, the world premiere of Ayres’ new show, “And I Will Follow,” is a 180-degree turn into a complex and deeply moving one-man show about the Moser family murders, based off the true-crime book “So Many Fragile Things” by Amy Kinzer Steidinger.
Mark Goetzinger, directed by Tim Ocel, captures a professional, aging but engaging newspaper warrior — an original American storyteller digging for truth. He reminds me of Harrison Ullmann in some ways, and for those of you who know, that is the highest accolade possible.
